Max possible distance btw phono and line
« on: 26 Nov 2016, 08:39 pm »
I'm thinking of having a separate vinyl setup closer to the listening chair. Ideally, I'll have TT And phono on one side of the room, and Pre and Power on the other, with the two about 10ft apart. Would this affect the sonic quality any?
Thanks.

Might be OK. Kind of depends on what capacitance your cartridge might require (if its an MM) and also what cable you use. At say 17 pf per foot, and some number for RCA jacks, your cables could be under 200pf, which is OK. I have to ask if your turntable has its own interconnects, or does it have RCA jacks.
