I disagree. If the system goal is to obtain the best possible sound quality, then there is no hierarchy of components. Everything is equally important. By merely choosing an amplifier that is "electrically compatible" with your chosen speakers in terms of power, impedance, and damping... chances are that amplifier will severely limit the final result in terms of overall sound quality.
