Did you go back to the 2nd and 3rd floors?

Did you visit all the rooms?

How long did you stay?

IMO vendors do a very poor job displaying at shows, seemingly not done to impress, appearing to be extremely rushed.

What I liked was.... Three things.
One home cinema set up.
A pair of fairly small speakers with big sound.
A pair of big speakers with big sound and big price.
Pictures and comments will come this week in a post dedicated just for that.
Yes, it was busy, I went on Sunday - 9am and here was already lots of people,
but when I left around 11am there was almost traffic jam in the corridors of the hotel
and the elevator was full with a long waiting time, I took the stairs, need the exercise.
Yes, I did visit all the rooms twice on the two floors.
9am to 11am that's two hours to see everything there was to see.
Of course some rooms didn't need a 15 minute stay, 5 minutes was enough.
For what I know from my 20 years stay on planet Vietnam,
the Vietnamese vendors have to habit of displaying everything they have at their store,
they bring their whole inventory and stack it to the roof (If they can) to impress potential buyer.
I've seen that in computer stores where they put monitors and computer's towers
stack one on top of the other to the roof, no kidding.
Only they hi-end or call it expensive audio stuff had decent set up,
but unfortunately, none of them had decent acoustic room treatment.

By the way, it's a (Vietnamese) custom or a trend in many shows,
but this years there was lots of nice ladies to greet you at the door of the room.

Thank you for posting about it. It's a shame it was so poorly organized.

 I can't imagine going to all the trouble to demonstrate an entire HT system without sound. That will surely help sales.

Now, I'm really looking forward to upcoming shows in Taiwan. They are well organized, but there are no pretty greeters at the doorways. Sigh.

5 minutes versus 15 minutes needed per room, not so different here. 

I've learned to start at the top and work my way down the stairs.

Small shows you can visit everything and have enough time, bigger shows you have to decide whether to give 5 minutes per room or concentrate on a pre-selected number of rooms.  Pros and cons each way.  5 minutes isn't enough for a decent listen to stuff you're interested in, but concentrating on a few rooms means you missed stuff you didn't know would be there.

I know, even with a 15 minutes listening, how can you give an credible opinion.
Well, I did say in one of my first post, that I was not a good audio show reporter.
Next year, if I am still on planet Vietnam,
I will do more critical listening and less picture taking.
I might be wrong, but for me, if with the first few minutes you are not impressed,
then why continue ?
The two or three rooms that made me stay a little longer were
two home cinema set up and one fairly modest system.
In one of those rooms was a Samsung home cinema set up.
Looking at the components it was nothing to impress you.
A sound bar, aiming at the ceiling, two satellite speakers, probably two ways with 4 or 6'' woofer
and a separate subwoofer, maybe an 8'' and that's it.
But the sound was holographic, three D, I was really impressed,
which is rare on audio shows I go to.
The bass was different from the usual earth quake type,
more natural and I would say, less fatiguing.
The movie was The Transformer so a lot of crash, rumble, etc...
But it's the audio three D effect that caught me attention
and made me stay 15 minutes and during the whole demo session.
They had demo every 15 minutes to fill the room with people
and believe me the room was filled wall to wall.

This one also impressed me,
but in a different way.
One of the most powerful bass, it made my chest vibrate to the music.
As usual, too loud, but no real distortion,
so still pleasant to listen.
Probably my Rythmik F12G could have done the same result.
