Saigon hi-end show.

Hi all,
I know I am not at the right place,
so please re-direct me to the right place.

September 17 to 19th 2016
the hi-end AV show at the Majestic Hotel
in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
I will be there and try to make a small report,
but don't expect much from me,
I suck at that kind of thing.

Hi all,
today I drove past the Majestic hotel just to make sure the AV show
is still on the schedule and it is.
I will be there Sunday fr sure and maybe also Monday 50% sure.
I will try to do a good reporter job.
I was wondering if to make my visit more official
and get a red carpet welcome form the exhibitors
if I could advertise myself as a representative, reporter, ambassador, official
for AudioCircle, what would be the best name to describe what I will be doing ?
Since I don't think the entrance badge wont show anything other than my name
I will make my own badge with AudioCircle on it.
Any suggestions ?

Hi Triumph,
I will know for sure when I get there on Sunday.
But with the not too good economy,
I would not be surprise if there was only 16 exhibitors.
The Majestic hotel is a very expensive hotel,
two of my (Rich, not like me) relatives stayed there
and 10 years ago they paid 350 USD per night.

We thought about exhibiting there but it is expensive.

Great idea (from my standpoint anyway).

Perhaps you could bill yourself as the AC Vietnam Field Correspondent?

16 vendors is small, but just think of all the attention you can gain. I think it would be very interesting to attend this. Are all the vendors 2-channel audio, or are some HT?

There are shows coming up in Taichung and Taipei that I plan to attend again this Winter. I had a blast last Winter.

Got up early (5am) to get ready for my visit to the Saigon hi-end AV show
at the Majestic hotel.
I will post pictures (Hopefully lots of them) tomorrow.

Hi all,
I am back from the Saigon Hi-End show with pictures.
I am glad I went, but also happy to be back.
My Nikon D-200 with my SB600 flash were having problem
exposing correctly the pictures, most are under-exposed,
therefore I had to do strong post treatment.
I will spread all the taken pictures over a few days,
because the Internet connection is so slow. (3.25 Gbps)
40% of the exhibitors were Home Cinema stuff.
50% hi-end stuff (Very expensive stuff)
10% Speaker cables, mini systems, headphones...
You will se that I don't have much talent as a photojournalist,
so please be forgiving.

Extruded aluminum speaker enclosure.
Made in Switzerland.
It's not shown, but the walls are lined with a quater inch thick
gasket like soft foamy rubber.
The speakers sound good, but not more than just good.
Of course like all the audio shows, the acoustic of the hotel room was terrible
and the choice of recorded material not always good either.

those Vietnamese they sure like their music loud, very loud...

One of the several rooms for home cinéma stuff.
This one is... So, so...

Sony cinema projector, you can see that trying to suspend it to the ceiling might by a problem or a big job.
The exhibitor did not have sound, no speakers, only video without sound. Humm mmm

Sorry... The Sony projector set up had speakers,
but the sound was off, when I was in the room.

At the admission desk, in the elevator or anywhere else,
there was no indication that the exhibition was on floor two and three.
I only found out when I was ready to leave and saw some visitors
pushing the second floor button.
There is a lack of organization...
So, second floor is like half a floor and the third floor is full length.

So inquiring minds want to know:

What did you like?

Was it busy?

Did you go back to the 2nd and 3rd floors?

Did you visit all the rooms?

How long did you stay?

IMO vendors do a very poor job displaying at shows, seemingly not done to impress, appearing to be extremely rushed.
