Are they hot enough that there's no need to turn the thermostat above 50 degrees F in winter?Do you hang damp laundry above them? Can you cook flapjacks with their heat?In approximately 52 hours I'll be able to offer my opinion on how hot they are. See you on Saturday!
You will receive a 6C33 amp?Post several photos, say anything in advance...
Hello, FRM. I just purchased a Don Sachs Model 2 (SP14) preamp. It's got four Shuguang CV-181(?) 6sn7 tubes. The picture Captainhemo posted is my preamp. It's still breaking in. I got practically every upgrade imaginable. I'm kinda hoping this will be my last preamp. [Assuming such a thing is possible!]
Congratulations for the new machine. What do you mean say by It's still breaking in.??Tubes equips can not remain on around the clock.
Why can't tube equipment remain on around the clock? What if you want to play music continuously?Of course they can be on around the clock. You just reduce the longevity of the tube, that's all.
My buddy has a pair of 6c33c mono blocks being built by Kevin at K&K Audio, we were hoping they'd be here in time for Michael's (mressegui) visit but not quite ready yet. SET , all Lundahl transformers.... will post pics when they arrive
FRM,There is a nice thread in the Tube-o-phile circle entitled "Don Sachs SP14 Tube Preamp". This is where you will find conversation and photographs of my preamp and others' D Sachs preamps.Enjoy.
