Hi, I just got a Samsung S7 edge

The keyboard is pretty good after removing the number keys so it's not tiny. Plus the draw function is pretty damn good. But there's no hide button. IMO it's pathetic that there isn't a go away button. Tapping on screen to acc on accomplish it isn't always an option.

I'm afraid to get an aftermarket one because they can collect your data... not sure what to do.

Assume you're talking about hiding the keyboard. I only have an older samsung galaxy so not sure if they are set up in the same way, but on the one I have I can hide the keyboard by hitting the "go back" button in the bottom right corner.

I'll try that but I thought it did everything but move the keyboard. My older Andriod had a down looking button I'd hit and then I could see stuff again! It was glory.
