I see the original question about the Warfedale 10.1 crossover upgrade seems to have slipped by.
From what you have so far said, I would imagine that the right speaker for you, more than most, would be a pair of Eikonas by Ted Jordan, who brings the same attention to speaker design as you do to art.
If you have a carpenter friend, or are one yourself, I think you chould build one of the boxes on this page:

The drivers are not cheap, even though the £ is low, but then quality often is not.
