Black Paper in Schiit Fulla ?
« on: 5 May 2016, 11:13 pm »
Hi, just wondering what the black paper is for.
I don't think I've seen that in any other electronic devices.

Thanks

I'm guessing it's simply an electrical insulator from the casing.

Better email Schitt and ask them to add it to the Fulla FAQ.

Maybe it's 'fish paper' insulation.

I think so.
Is this to prevent static electricity from reaching the guts ?

Not even a static thing. Since everything is in such tight proximity, they just don't want the components to touch the metal casing and short out.

Ah, it does look like it has a good chance of touching the metal case without the paper.

Thanks all

Fish paper or fishpaper is a strong (black), flexible, fibrous dielectric paper. It resists moderate heat and mechanical injury, and is often used for wrapping coils and insulating stove-top parts. It is hygroscopic and so must be treated with paraffin for use in moist environments.
