So how do you like living in Feenix? ;-)

I love it.. It's hotter than the proverbial hell, but for 6 months a year, it's simply paradise.

My Super 7s are for sale on the Trading Post. Like Tyson I wanted to move up to the Line Forces but gave up on them ever being made available except as DIY. My DIY skills are close to non-existent so that was a consideration for me as well.

I had no intention of selling the Super 7s until I went to Capital Audiofest 2023 and auditioned the Arion Audio Apollo 12 speaker system. I had wanted to hear them for a few years so I decided the CAF 2023 was worth a trip to hear them. When I got home I told my wife that they are the only speakers that I have heard at any store or show that I knew outclassed the Super 7s. Fortunately Mike Kalellis of Arion Audio told me that the Apollo 12 speaker system at the show would be sold at a discount so between my wife telling me to buy them and a trip to Mike’s house in Charlotte, NC for another audition I bought them.

Unlike Jeffrey I never thought the soundstage of the Super 7s was too low. After adding another layer of sheetrock and green glue to my listening room a few years back I wound up with the room from hell as far as bass is concerned. Rythmik PEQ A370 helped as well as using open baffle subs in the rear corners but it was still not satisfying. Hopefully no other Super 7 owner has had the struggle I had with getting good bass out of them.

Its funny, the people moving away from the Super 7s are all moving to MUCH larger speaker systems.

The Super 7s are better than my LS9s in perhaps more than a few ways, but they are not as spacious and full.   But the Line Force is a different level from both.

Thankfully, I don’t have room for larger speakers. :P

Arion Audio Apollo 12 speaker system.

Congratulations!
How many woofer modules per side did you get?

Playing with stacked Heil AMT drivers recently, I must believe 12 AMT's per side will be something else entirely.
Compared to the famous speaker brands' top line speakers' prices (), the price seems reasonable for what you get, i.e. outboard active crossover/dsp, bass amplifiers, etc.

I got a single pair of woofer modules with the intent to add another pair later. The single pair sound excellent in my room, which is 15Wx24Lx10.5H.

I agree that the price is reasonable based on the total package. In my case I got the deal of the century buying the demo system.

The outriggers are Townshend Seismic Isolation Bars with Isoacoustics Rhea Carpet Discs under each corner. Made a huge improvement in the system.

Nicee.  You prefer absorbers over diffusors behind the dipole in the corners?

Three AMT's per side is where I have to stop  :D

Jon-
The wall behind the speakers and the corners are a work in progress.

I have ordered a pair of ATS Wood QRD Diffusers to add to either end of the existing three diffusers. I wasn’t planning to do this until next year but I got an e-mail from ATS this week stating they are raising their prices effective 08/01/24.

I discovered a while back that full range bass traps such as GIK Soffit or Monster Traps do not work in my room with dipole speakers. My four Soffit traps in the front corners have been banished to my garage.
What you are seeing in the photo is a full range 2x4 GIK Monster Trap on the bottom and a range limited 2x2 GIK Monster Trap on the top. I have a piece of cardboard in front of the 2x4 Monster Trap to reflect upper frequencies. This arrangement works better than the Soffit Traps.

I have a pair of Real Trap Mega Traps ordered to install at the bottom of the corners; may sound crazy but I choose my acoustic products based on what my ears tell me not room measurements. I order the minimum number of products needed to allow me to experiment.

That is how I chose the PI Audio Diffuser backed by 2x4 range limited GIK 244 Bass Trap on top of a 2x2 range limited GIK Monster Trap you see on the side walls behind the speakers. I have this same arrangement at the speaker FRPs. I chose these with the Super 7s – improved the room bass and spaciousness quite a bit.

The Mega Traps absorption falls off steadily beyond 200 hz so it is a range limited bass trap. I’m undecided until I get these whether to add two more at each corner or place a RT Corner Mondo Trap on top. The Mondo traps are more full range – if I go this route I will see how a PI Audio Diffuser works in front of them.

Your room must have some serious bass nodes since dipole bass is supposed to interact much less with the room

You gave me a good idea of placing my Pi diffusor on top of absorber panels.  I just recently took out a couple of absorber panels because room was losing some life up top.

Anyway, have fun with the room, the most important frontier  :thumb:

Have finally sold my Super-7s, to Sunil in the Bay area; each of us is driving 6 hours and meeting in the middle...at Magic Mountain  🙂.. I'll be hauling them and the hundreds of other pieces in my '23 Ford Explorer; he's buying my gasoline.

Sure wish it looked here as if I got rid of a bunch of audio stuff.  😑

Edit--drove to Magic Mountain, met Sunil, transferred the speakers, amps, and stuff, and drove home.. Fifteen hours, all told.. And oh how I'm learning to hate SoCal even more.. On a SATURDAY, I-210, about 80 miles long, was mostly bumper-to-bumper traffic, all 6-or-so lanes of it, and of course often stopping dead still.. No wonder it took c. 6-1/2 hours or so to complete each 5-1/2-hour trip.

And...unless the benefits of making another trip like this measure in the thou$nd$, this is the last one for me.

Ok - got the super 7 last week - thanks to Jeffrey.
Getting ready to connect them.
Signal chain is as follows
Oppo 205 - stereo out to Modwright LS 100 - will be using one pre outs for the odyssey kismet amps for speaker section and second pre out for the plate amps line in.

Does everything looks ok?

That looks good.

Have you ever dialed in the active subs before?  If not I can give a few pointers.

Also, welcome to the family :thumb:

Some starter settings I recommend are:

PEQ - Off.  We'll come back to PEQ later, for now just leave it in the Off position

Delay/Phase - set to 0

Crossover - set to 120

Volume - we'll have to measure this before we set it.  Leave it alone for now.

Line in/Lowpass - set to AVR/12

Rumble Filter - Off (unless you have a turntable, then set it to On)

Extension Filter - 14

Damping - High

The first thing we need to do is to measure the main panels and bass SPL together so we can match the sub volume to the main panels volume.  Do you have way to do acoustic measurements?

If you don't have something already, I recommend using an app on your phone to do the measurements.  Let me know if you want more details about the program I use.
