Def. best supporting actor nom for Stallone, and possibly Best Picture nom. Hard to believe this is a SEVENTH Rocky entry/spinoff. It operates on its own terms and Coogler directs with originality and vision. The performances are top-notch, Michael B. Jordan is terrific and utterly believable as Apollo's son. This movie had so much heart you'll want to bring your hanky.

Totally above and beyond my expectations.

I was also pretty impressed by the film.  Far from just being a grab at the cash it really does tell its own story and stands on its own as a film. Stallone and Jordan are both superb, although I never really felt the latter was convincing in the ring.  He's a fine actor and certainly he was well conditioned but he doesn't really move like a boxer. Still a very enjoyable film, well worth seeing even if, like me, you missed the last ten or twelve Rocky films.
