I have heard and seen pictures from tube equipment manufactures about damage to sockets. Contact Victor at BAT and have him send you a photo or two of sockets he has had to replace due to treatments applied to tube pins and sockets. Just a friendly caution  :D

I would agree if your system already sounds bright and forward that adding silver contact paste is a bad idea. Just find the best solvent for the silclear grease and remove it, then maybe add some gold-based contact enhancer, you'll probably like that better.

I liked the effect of Silclear on my system, fwiw.

As do I but I'm not using it on any tube pins as the tubes in my Butler Audio amps are hardwired into their sockets. But I use Silclear on most everything else, all my speaker/IC Digital and power cables. I've even touched up fuse holders and iEC terminals. I've never experienced any of the issues that the King has, thank the gods. From Silcear, I get extra clarity from the highs in my sound stage which is airy and well behind my loudspeakers. :D

I used Silclear on all tube pins, PC males pin and some of the rCAs. Thsi stuff is making mystem sound bad. I get splashy highs and a more forward soundstage. I have used Isopropyl alcohol, acetone mixed with water, pipe cleaners, qtips and I stil can't get these effects out of my system.

Can someone please suggest what I can do as Mapleshade is not returning calls or emails.

too cheap for the high $$$ stuff so i grabbed one of these.

i have all my audio parts and a little room treatment  so time for some cheap tweeks

Try Pro Gold spray on a Q-Tip.

I know another person who also feels that Silclear damaged his system, and Mapleshade basically told him to go to hell.

I think he's planning on taking them to small claims court.

I goofed. It isn't Silclear and Mapleshade after all. It's some guy named Walker and the goop that he sells.
