Hello,
Thanks again for the replies. That chart of subjective opinions on caps is very interesting.
I went for the Jupiters for 0.22 and have decided to leave the Mundorf in there for now mainly due to costs. Perhaps I will change these next year if the 0.22 work out well.
I have ordered a 100k stepped shunt attenuator plus a new switch. The standard pot is an alps 250K. I had a look under the hood and found two small caps (see image) on the input of the pot. These are not shown on the schematic in my first post. I can only assume that these are DC blocking caps and should be considered for removal when I put the new pot in. Further to this the volume knob appears to not have a grub screw holding it in place as I expected. There is a threaded hole where the grob screw would go but no screw. At present it looks like it might be glued on unless I am missing something which could be a bit of a pain to remove.
I also had a look into changing the output tube cathode bypass caps 100uf 160v, I would like to take out the electrolytics and put a polyprop in there but space is real tight.
