WTB: SET Integrated Amplifier (less than $800)
« on: 10 Nov 2015, 09:24 pm »
Hello AC'ers,

In my ever growing curiosity (and because of my ever decreasing listening space) I'm delving into the low-wattage realm.  I'm  picking up a pair of Omega Speaker Systems Super 5 FF speakers this weekend and would like to complement it with a nice SET integrated amplifier under $800.  I'm not too familiar with SET amps and don't know if I should be looking at 45's, 2A3's, or 300B's, so feel free to throw anything out here :)

Cheers,
Brian

Hi,

I have an Eico AF4. Don't know if you are into vintage, but it sounds very nice. It was restored recently. You can google and find out more about it.  I will send you pictures once you read up on it and want to give it a try. I have two and thus selling one.

Please let me know.

It's not a SET, but you may want to consider the Redwine Signature 15 posted above.  Think it would be a great match with the Omega speakers.

I don't personally on a SET amp.  But, I'm very curious too.  So, for my money, I'd love to try a Musical Paradise MP-401 MK2 SET tube amp.  Remote controlled, with 3 inputs, and headphone support.  Output power is 15 watts with KT88 tubes, or 24 watts with either KT120's or 150's.  Not flashy in looks, but reviews are very positive.

Good Luck!
