Thanks for the replies! I will try to get involved in some discussions. The Acoustats are my area of expertise, been experimenting with them for 25 years or so. Especially the direct drive tube amps. If anyone is interested in these amplifiers, I have quite a bit of experience modding them. One excellent mod I did, was to remove the preamp stages from the main amp chassis, and put them in their own enclosure. Then, you can feed a balanced signal to the tube stage, and not induce the huge field of radiation (2500v audio signal) from the tubes, into the preamp stage.
I had this setup functional years ago, and a flooded basement took out the equipment. When stuff connected to 5KV goes underwater, it makes some interesting corrosion! I plan to re-build these eventually.
