I'd agree that the listening experience with panels vs traditional speakers is very different, and I attribute a lot of that to the panels being open baffle. I played around with open baffles of different types (panels, traditional drivers etc) for over 12 years before returning to a more traditional speaker. It was my darn cats (and I do love all 3 of them) that prevented me from keeping the Maggie 1.6QR's on Mye stands - they were the best speakers I've owned. But life goes on - and in my review of the Focal Electra 906's I owned after the 1.6's I referenced the differences between the open baffle sound and the more traditional boxed speakers. That review is here in this circle.
