Interesting.....but with the pioneer speakers being so good and so cheap I'd do pioneer all the way unless I'm on a very tight budget. Did an all pioneer elite atmos system for a friend and it was surprisingly very good. Pioneer elite is not admittedly super C&C although darn close - and if you go non elite level w/ pioneer you can be safely in C&C terrain.

A quick price check at Best Buy reveals a $249 price for the receiver, so five speakers and a sub for $100, not bad.  Still plenty of room to upgrade the front speakers to BS-22 or something else and still be under $500.
