Very, very few of the amps sold as "monoblocks" for the last 30 years have had separate power supplies.
How do you know that? Have you done a survey or are you just guessing?

Please forgive if this is too stupid a question for an answer.
Would a pair of 600Rs be upgradeable to a set of the new 1K monoblocks?

I've been reading the manufacturer's literature and visiting audio "salons" for the last 40 years. How about you?

Call them whatever you like, did this new project get off the ground?
These sound like the ticket for planar speakers.

There's been no announcement from AVA anywhere.  Still a prototype, if that.

Amps that are too heavy to lift and require dedicated 20 amp circuits per channel don't seem to be in the AVA tradition, but probably will be more affordable than the $50-100K per unit the competition offers.

Yes, still a prototype it seems, but they did go out for another listen. http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=138750.msg1477532#msg1477532

Hopefully, I.Greyhound Fan (Larry) will chime in with some thoughts.  :thumb:

Hi guys,

We are still working on these amplifiers and getting close to final stages.  Just to answer a few questions.

Bump.

Any photos of the 1Kw mono amps?

Mark

Mark we don't have photos yet as we are still working on the faceplate design.

resonance not a stupid question.  Frank has always focused on the ability to provide upgrades.  Unfortunately, upgrades from older amplifiers would not be an option for these.

modular747 we definitely have not designed these amplifiers to be too heavy, I have to be able to lift them - prerequisite for our engineers before designing - Can Mary lift it? :weights:
The final price has not been determined yet, as always, it will be affordable. That is and always has been what AVA is all about.  Great sounding equipment at reasonable prices. We want everyone to be able to enjoy listening to music as much as we do here. :banana piano:

We are testing a 1000W mono amp.  Two issues, it might require a 20 amp AC line circuit (one per channel) and it is a bit heavy for me to pick up.  :)

Sound? Spectacular!

Frank

Mary must be more buff than Frank!

Frank,

Any chance of an amp for the Salk Exotica bass section, improving on the Rythmic plate amp presently being used?
