I hope to hear the GT Audio speakers later on this month if all goes well.

I've had 3.7's for 2 years plus now and have tried them with several amps.
My favorite by far is the Bryston 7bsst2.
I would probably swap it only for a pair of 28bsst2's....

3.7s need a lot of juice to open those speakers up, but if you give the
speakers prodigious amounts of power, you will be rewarded with lifelike
sound that is almost scary sometimes.....

I've had all sorts of speakers over the years and with the 3.7's I really
think I've reached the end of the road......no desire at all to swap
them for something else.......

I use a tube preamp (CAT SL1 Renaissance)

I used to own a pair of Apogee Duettas.  I loved them but I didn't want to listen to an arc welder of an amp to drive them.  I ultimately switched to tubes and decided to let the Apogees go.  I settled on a pair of Newform Research 645 ribbon hybrids and have never looked back; 91db efficient and very tube friendly.  There are some very nice sounding hybrids out there that won't set you back to bad.  If I was in the market for a speaker right now, I'd be looking at the GoldenEar Technology's line.

Steve, I hope you got to hear the GTA 2.5s at 2015 CAF, I did and loved them. I'm trying to sell my current speakers, and pick out a veneer, and I'll have a pair before Christmas. They will play nice with my Odyssey Kismet monos and Candela pre.
