Very rare to come up for sale. The amp takes more than a year to build. I'm technically the second owner. First owner sold it for financial reason before getting a chance to use it. It was ordered to build in early 2013 and was completed around early 2014. I bought it directly from Paul around June, 2014. Just broken in.
- Push pull amp.
- Negative Feedback adjustment. (It makes unbelievable difference when adjusting the NFB switch )
- Jupiter caps.
- Tube regulated power supply
- 4 output tubes KT66 through KT150 can be used. Mine has KT150 installed
- It puts out more than 100 watts per channel
- The other tubes are NOS 6sn7
- This amp barely gets warm given its bias is set conservatively due to regulated voltage source.
- Paul has mentioned with normal use, the tubes should last 10 years!!
- This amp is incredibly dynamic (both micro and macro), great extension, excellent sound stage and details with refinement. It has a big sound.
- It is equally suitable for loud rock music and jazz/vocal/acoustic music
- The amp is huge (22.5W x 21D x 11"H) and heavy (around 130 lbs).
- Comes with original wooden crate
Only reason I've given this a 7 is because the top golden anodized plate has some scuffs due to shipping. You can easily get the plate re-anodized to any color (black/silver/gold) from Paul for around $100 - $150.
- I've used Lampizator Level 7 with analog volume control directly to this amp with mind blowing result. Lampizator volume control in level 7 is world class. You really need to use a top of the line preamp to make this amp any justice. I'm also selling my Lampizator Level 7. Would put up the classified soon.
This is the best amp I've ever heard. Please do not low ball me. Given the size/weight, a local pickup from NY 11106 would be ideal. Otherwise, it has to ship through freight. Please arrange pickup in that case.
