Part vitriol, part serious question.
The vitriol: Oh, the horror. My experience with LHLabs hasn't exactly been a happy one. As an early backer of the GeekWave 32, and later opting for an upgrade, I waited patiently for the 32 to arrive in March but there were delays after delays angering the patient faithful even as the LHLabs crew shamelessly attempted to garner support for several new products instead of first delivering on the already promised. Last week they informed me that their chip manufacturer can't deliver the 32 chip and that I now have to upgrade to the 64 for an additional $99 and a projected delivery date of November. Well, I've had it and apparently I'm not the only one as user emails on their site seem to be more rant against than in praise of. To make things worse, the coy, evasive, unctuous and misleading news releases from the head unct-ioneer are maddening enough to send one screaming down the street, " remember you haven't bought a product, you've invested in a community". He refers to all the investors collectively as "The Geek Force". Save your watches boys, it's a-gettin' deep.
The question: My wife has a Fiio and I like it a lot. I'm thinking about passing on the LH labs 'offer' of a $99 upgrade, getting a refund and buying the Fiio X5 instead. Can anyone advise? Will the proposed 64, if it ever does hit the market, be a much better machine than the FiiO X5?
