Looks like megawoofer to me.  Are these MLS cabinets?  Do the Megawoofers fit perfectly into the cutouts for them? They look great.  I think my high gloss black RM30's look great too.

Those are the Megawoofers and they are a perfect fit.

Wayne, remember to remove the plastic film over the tweeter diaphragm!

Trinaural Processor on its way to you for use at RMAF.

I have plastic film covering my FST in between the syrofoam on my 626r's. Is this what you're talking about removing? If it is, no one ever said anything to me about this when I bought them.

Glad to hear that has been taken care of.  Sorry about ripping on it in the other thread.

That's what he's talking about.  You will be amazed at how much better the speakers sound with a tweeter

Congratulations!!

What great looking RM30s.  I think the new MegaWoofs have that little orangy/red section near the pole peice.  So it would appear like they "do" have the "new" megas.

I sent a client 5 of that finish and never have seen them.

They are good looking.

Oh and those are BB (Bud Bailey of Apple Valley) cabinets.

Plastic film removed and they are playing fine.

The third one, for center channel in the Trinaural set up, didn't make it today. I guess UPS wants to use it over the weekend.

They do have Megawoofers and the routing around the woofer cutouts looks great. I will try to find time to take a photo of the fronts tomorrow. I just got back from Colorado Springs for the first game of my son's hockey tournament. He has at least three more games to go this weekend. They tied 1-1. Not too bad fot the first game the team has played together

As John mentioned, these cabinets are made in the good ol' USA. Very heavy and sturdy. Shipping weight of 110 lbs.

I need to brush off the styrofoam from the packing and polish them up a bit, but I think everyone who sees them at RMAF will be impressed with the quality of the cabinets.

Brian, thanks for the update on the processor. Some guys from the DAM will be coming over tomorrow to take a quick listen. More later.

I LIKE 'EM!!

Brian,  I prefer the "flat top" version (ala RM-40's & 626's) as opposed to the previous pics of the "radius" version (ala RM-1 & 2's)

I'm really getting close to my decision...  was there a design change, or does this need to be specified?

The round edges are fashioned from hardwood inlays in cabinets made by Bud Bailey of VIP Wood in Apple Valley CA.

There is no such thing as rosewood solids (1" thick pieces), so the construction of the rosewood is different: MDF is radiused on the vertical edges only and a rosewood veneer "wrap" is made with a single sheet of veneer corner to corner.  Thus the slightly different appearance.

If you order oak or piano black, you get hardwood edges.  If you order oak or cherry, you get a "wrap".

Brian,  Was this a mis-type, or does the Oak go "both ways"?
(so to speak)

I'm interested in Dark Oak wrap and would hope that I could order them this way...   :D

Thanks,

John

All oaks are inlaid hardwood edges and look wonderful.  Bud does not do oak "wraps" since he buys board preveneered.

WOW... those look amazing.  I haven't had gear envy in a long time.  You are making me regret my choice of staying in school for another 8 years.
