AC filter for T7/350EXR?
« on: 1 Oct 2004, 05:02 pm »
Just received my T7/350EXR combo this wednesday.

Thanks to Frank for giving me the summer sale discount so I could afford a T7 instead of T6.

They produce very satisfying music. It even made my wife who was strongly against the decision of upgrading changing CD after CD to hear her favorite songs last nite!  :D

I have power amp plugged directly into a outlet from wall with preamp and CD player into a cheap power surge protector. The problem I am having is I hear hiss/noise from tweeter of my speakers. The hiss/noise become louder by 3-4 times with both power and pre amp on compared to with only power amp on.

The question is what can I do to reduce the noise? Should I try to use AC filter or power conditioner since I live in a coop apartment where AC is not the cleanest.

Power filter- Try a 'Brick Wall'

I've been using a brickwall filter for my T7 and sources, and a 6 outlet tripplite strip for the amp & sub woofer.  The brick wall has no MOVs and supposedly is failsafe. About $240.

WHAT SUMMER SALE?
I posted a question about a summer sale several months ago, had over a hundred views, no responses, no excitement, nothing.

I asked Frank if I qualify for "special system price for two or more pieces of AVA product" stated on the website when I ordered mine since I wanted AVA power/pre amp combo.

Thanks for the update, Xgen.
I thought I missed the summer sale.
From what I remember, he had one last year...
