Musial Paradise amp
« on: 8 May 2015, 07:00 am »
I was curious if anyone here besides me owns Musical paradise MP301MK3 amplifier and what they think about theirs. I have owned mine for about 10 months and could not be happier with it. I literally have it on from 6 am when I get my daughter up for school until 9 or 10 pm every weekday and longer on weekends. I changed out the stock tubes for a pair of Sovtek 5881WXT and am loving the sound of this thing !

I had one for about a year and loved it before selling it to another member on here. I don't remember which tubes I had, but they were an upgrade that were sold with the amp. Wonderful tone. Build quality was so much better than I expected for the price, and the sound was just wonderful. Mine blew a couple fuses before I purchased some that were a bit stronger.

I sold it because my listening area is shared as a kids play area, and the exposed hot tubes seemed like a bad idea. I've been looking at his middle amp now since it is enclosed, the MP401.

Gary at MP is a good guy, I've had two....gen 1 & 2 and they are the nicest sounding amp at any price point as far as I'm concerned.
Great price, awesome sound, I'll buy another for sure......enjoy!!!!

I have the Gen 2 using EL34-B power tubes.  At 8 WPC it drives my Hoyt Bedfords Type 1's with ease.  I adore it!

I've got the Gen. 1 with upgraded tubes at purchase time. It's heavy for its size and I agree, really well built.

But strictly a winter time amp. That little sucker really runs hot!  :nono:

Hi, all.

I just checked out the website. If it weren't for your positive comments, I probably would be mighty skeptical that an amp so cheap could have reasonable SQ. WCaudiodude, thank you for posting.  :thumb:

I have experienced this MP amp, and it's one heck of an audio find.  Do all still think low price = low performance and that we should exhibit high levels of skepticism...and consider high (insane) priced gear ='s world best, for that price it's gotta be good right?   If this were the case Andrew Jones' SP-BS22-LR bookshelves have to be crap right?  Thanks for letting me vent on this one.  I'd be more wary of spending mega bucks on gear and then finding out it's marginal at best.

FWIW, Just last week I read elsewhere of someone who owned both the Musical Paradise and Miniwatt amps preferred the latter with his Omegas.

I've had mine for about a year and love it. Works great with my diy open baffles.

I had one for awhile too. It's an amp that lives up to all the hype around it. I did a write up about it here:
