Does the Diablo face plate have a clearcoat? Oops, the case is all one piece, I forgot. So, is there a clearcoat on the exterior surfaces? I might like to polish the face. Not polished as in chrome finish but, a little more sheen to it.

Pretty sure clear coat would have to be there or the exposed, raw, metal would eventually oxidize or corrode (the latter especially if one lives near the ocean). Maybe I'm wrong?

The cases were fine sanded then clear anodized. It might be very hard to polish the cases without removing the anodize, which can be a challenge as well.

This would be better suited via PM but to answer your question, it would be possible but we would need an XMC-1 faceplate to measure the current layout.
