As a matter of interest would a self-powered external drive work connected to the BDP2 via eSATA rather than USB?
It should, the very original bot prototype introduced at TAVES 2013 I think it was, it worked over esata. I will say though, there is no performance gain and hasn't tested nearly as much as a USB option.
