Pioneer SP-BS-41-LR

Folks,

New to AC, but have been following this community for a while. Have a set of the Pioneer SP-BS-41's connected to a Yuan Jing TA2020. Past few days ago, I noticed that the output from one speaker was very low compared to the output from the other speaker. To rule out a bad connection or a problem with a channel in the TA2020, I switched the speakers, but still had the same issue. I have not had a chance to open up the speaker to check what's going on, but any thoughts on whether the crossover has gone or the speaker coil itself has gone would be helpful. Secondly, has anybody in the community tried the mods for the BS-22 to this speaker and if they have can they provide some insights into whether it is something that can be easily done or is very difficult.

Sorry to hear about the output issues, haven't had that problem on mine.

I suspect the 22 mods would are not easily applicable to the 41s. However, if memory serves there was a big 41 mod thread on the Parts Express forums, you might go search there.

Went ahead and opened up the offending speaker and did not find anything that seemed out of the ordinary. There was a loose connection with the tweeter, fixed that....to no avail. The problem still persists. Seems like either the tweeter or the woofer have given up the ghost.... Had to find this out AFTER the newegg sale.... :duh:  Searched around on the parts express forums, the postings talk about mods to the younger brother of the 41, the BS-21's.
