very cool re Howe Gelb and 80's Giant Sand - one of my favs over the past 30 years or so though only cd versions here (not a lot of Giant Sand vinyl makes it to Canada it seems).

early Giant Sand kind of Neil Young meets Grateful Dead. Much more variety on most recent albums including opera, blues, tex/mex with a little hard core punk / cowpunk. Great live shows.

I found some of their stuff on Amazon! Not bad, about $25-30 for (2011) reissue.
