Every once in a while, I think music is dying, and there are no more good artists.
But then I run across songs like this that restore my faith.

Dude, music isn't dying. If anything, there are too many good bands. NR and the Nightsweats is good, as are (to name a few) Of Monsters and Men, Madeleine Peyroux, Pistol Annies (country), Panic! At the Disco (pop), The Revivalists, Brothers Osborne (try Port Saint Joe), Ashley Monroe (try Sparrow), The Steeldrivers, DOROTHY, the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman, Chris Stapleton, Imagine Dragons, Ed Sheeran, Poky LaFarge, and if you like soundtracks, the soundtrack to Hamilton ....

What I usually find is people who think music is dead have a very narrow definition of "music".  A former friend thought there was no good music anymore, but all he liked was certain blues and some jazz.  I rattled off a ton of other types of music, and he didn't like any of those.  Of course music is dying if you have a very limited idea of "music".

 Ok, ya got me Bob. I was being a little overly dramatic, in the name of "setting the stage" at how awesome I think that band is.
Sorry to do that to ya.

I've heard of a few of those bands, but you've certainly given me some homework to do.
While most of what I listen to isn't mainstream and might be considered "weird" by most, I do enjoy some good ol fashioned music.
Nathaniel, Chris Stapleton, JJ Grey, The Black Keys......etc...
I quit posting the odd stuff here since it wasn't getting any feedback.  :duh:

Thank man. ;)

Worth mentioning the kid is 14. He released his first EP when he was 10.
I think Jimi would be proud of this cover.

I recently discovered Ween. Quite an impressive band. check out these two songs.

Transderman Celebration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtuVA4NOm0I

The Argus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmzGMhE_ELs

The Argus for example sounds very prog rock, similar to Floyd, King Crimson, Porcupine Tree, Beatles etc.
Their music is quite eclectic and they fool around quite a bit in their songs.

Check out Buenas Tardes Amigo for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv-gT9lNa1g
