Like most have stated, those are very impressive speakers! Maybe I missed it, but can you give us more information of your build?

I like the sound, very open and lots of details, other people like the details and dynamic. But I will have a lower speakers Dannys Wegie ob top cabinet. I will still use the basic H-baffel without the sidewings. Here in Denmark the design is to speciel, so I can't sell the speakers, so I have do chance the design :(
Nice room, too. I love all the blonde wood, but don't the bare wood floors make for a pretty bright sound in the room, what with all the reflections off of it and the untreated walls?

Yes I have some reflection from floor and the wall behind the speakers. If Iàm listen to music the speakers is longer in to the room. Is is my livingroom and we are two if you understand :) The is only 15.09 wide 19.36 long 7.87 high. The dimension in my room makes some problem, I have to live with. There is no problem in the bass and I can do something in the middle and high with my Holm Acoustics Dspre digital X-over. I don`t use room-correction.

Hi Empeder.
That's not your real name, is it?
May I know you real name,
if it's not a military secret !
I am the exclusive distributor in Vietnam for a
Danish professional camera company called:
Phase One from Denmark.
Their products look nice like your speakers. :thumb:
Your speakers really. really look nice, much nicer than mine,
and you build them yourself, you have great talent, congratulation.
Mine were done by a Vietnamese cabinet maker and when you look
close, it's shows, the vinyl is then like a sheet of paper.
However, I did all the installation of the drivers,
amplifiers and the wiring.
I love your house's style.
I hope no one already asked this, because then they will say
I am a redundant person, but what are you using to drive them?

Guy 13 from planet Vietnam.

I don't show the pictures of my GR Research V1(M) to compete with you,
I am no match to you work of art.
(M) Modified or can also read V1NBTB (Not By The Book,)

Hallo Guy 13. my real name is Eriek and second name Peder, so you can see the combination.

Thanks for your nice word.
I use two class D stereo module from Pascal Audio. The amps performe much better than other class D amps I have head, the sound is warm. My planner units impedance is 2.8 ohm, SPL 90-93 db. The X-over is done by Holm Acoustics Dspre FIR filter, X-over 1460Hz tweeter/mid. 200Hz. Mid/Gr-servo subs. The amps is a perfect match to the speaker, they have the best performens at 2.7 ohm with 725watt total overkill right.

I don`t know the camera name.

Hi Eriek,
thanks for the info on your name and on your equipment.
Yes, 725 watts is a lot of watts...
Enough watts to blow up everything if you are not careful.
Phase One from Denmark is the largest manufacturer of professional cameras,
they also owns Mamiya and Leaf.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Hello Persiting1, first I have no pictures from this buildingproces.

The H-baffel is the drawing from Dannys site. It`s made of 0.09inch MDF, the wings 0.12inch.
I started with a template to the right proportioning of the sidewings. the challenge were the curves, but after trying 3-4 times on the drawing it was perfect. The woodworking is done with my Festool hand machines in the carport. A friend made the ion work.
The ribbon is paper from Jensen oil /paper capacitor, 7my alufoil. Then we use nano ion powder and very thin contact glue. The magnets is 15cm long and 10x10mm glued on ion grill. The now magnetic ribbon float in the magnetic field and only fixed lengthwise on a very soft material. My friend Andre`done the midrange and I made the tweeters. My eyes is not longer:(

Hope it was useful.

I have gone back and forth on doing that.  I am planning on building another H baffle for the subs and moving the V1s out but haven't had a chance yet.  If/when I get those built I will try the Wedgies on top and on stands to see if there are any negatives to either setup.  They sound great and integrate fine with the subs as they are now.

I have built a set of cabinets according to plans on Danny's site for the servo subs, built a "table" surrounding each to provide isolation, and set the wedgies on top of those.  The fold in the cabs gives the whole thing, plus the isolation table, just the right height for me.  To keep things simple, I wrapped the table part in grill fabric to make it presentable.  I will try to add a picture when I can, but my wedgies look nowhere near as good as those pictured here, as I haven't put any finish on them.

As far as how they sound -- this combination combines the strengths of every speaker design I have heard, and gives such a dose of each that I have a hard time imagining better in my room.  I owe it to Danny and AC, where I have learned so much, to do a full write-up soon.  As a final comment, though: I haven't been able to bring myself to take things apart to finish the wedgies, now that they are in place and singing -- a warning to those who follow!

I don't know how I ended up with the image here, these are definitely not mine, way too good looking:

Amazing both Erpeder's and the wedgies. Congratulations to the both of you. There is such an interesting cross-pollination in both the world's of design and audio between Denmark and the US. From Hans Wegner to Florence Knoll, and Scanspeak to GR. Many cool things that connect us. Cheers!!!!

Hi Erpeder, good to see your speaker on AudioCircle, they are surely worth a few pictures!

I heard Erpeders speakers in september, while trying to decide which bass/sub system to invest in, for my OB speakers.
I was really impressed with the speakers (and not only the bass). The finish is impeccable.
Considering that it is made 'by hand' (no CNC, afaIk), it is really impressive.

The same day I heard Erpeders speakers, I also heard another pair of OB bass drivers, 18" units from a different company. I had the opportunity to loan the 18"s for some months, but decided to order my own set of GR-basses.
I have not regretted that for a second  :D

Cheers,

The Priest
