Women for the most part don't. Pinterest...nice looking products.
Nice functions. 24-36 months of a lease with no maintenance fees (BMW).
ergonomics. Esthetics.

Women are very family orientated. The Munich Audio Show allows families to attend, but US shows discourage it. This keeps a lot of women away from audio. I believe that a change needs to be made to encourage families.

Women are very family orientated.

No they are not. Fewer and fewer are having families or getting married because more and more of them are in more economically powerful positions with less time for being 'family oriented'. If there's a time to appeal to women in this hobby it's now - the disposable income is there and growing, the leisure time is there, now we just need the industry to give a damn. Which it won't, as many of the opinions in this thread easily confirm.

I am genuinely surprised at the amazingly clueless opinions on this subject. If I had to listen to all this nonsense about why I am not interested - or let's be honest, 'don't have what it takes', which is really the subtext -  in something, guess what, I'd have no interest in it either.

Last but not least...how many women participate on Audio forums. Photography forums?
How many Women go to Music forums Or piano sites...Car sites.  They buy cameras and cars
they buy nice cameras and cars.  Nice clothes. Nice vacations.  But they dont fuss over them
like we do nor do they go to our extremes.

I'll happily ignore the rest of that post but want to point out the last time I encountered a female poster on an audio form (diy oriented and technical talk no less) she left after only a short time because she was being harassed via private mail I believe by multiple people. She didn't even have a photo or avatar. The only thing anyone knew was that her username was feminine and she mentioned being a woman. That's all it took to bring the mouth breathers out.

The attendance at the shows here inte US is getting smaller and smaller while Munich continues to grow. The US shows needs to try something different.
