Looking to get a macmini remote. The way I understand it, is that the same remote is capable  of controlling all of the mac products, imac/ibook/air/macmini.

Am I correct in assuming this ?

My research hasn't shown any one special remote for the macmini and this one should be compatible.

Yes thats right. Also several non  Apple products as well.
