Bought em from the HiFi House dealership auction a few months ago (they went out of business) thinking I'd used them for a secondary system, but just have too many speakers / systems and not enough time anymore to enjoy them all.  They are 100% new sealed in box (hence no photos) and I'm asking $2,922 - that is, 30% off new retail price ($4175).  Later on will add photos of sealed boxes.

A consistently highly recommended Stereophile Class "B" recommended speaker for at least a decade (and still in their current product line up), characterized as having excellent soundstage and "smooth midrange, airy treble, and well-extended bass in an attractive, compact package."  These really are handsome speakers w/ a narrow footprint suitable for all clases of music. Photos often don't do justice to the quality and finish of the cabinets.  Always remember to mass load them - in my opinion with leadshot as I do with my Totem Arros - for maximum bass performance.

Paypal is the preferred mode of payment and free if paid as "friends / family" where no commission is charged to me.  Shipping if needed would be at actual cost insured with a choice of Fedex (my favored carrier), UPS, or USPostal.  Local pick up is possible in the northern Virginia area - I'm willing to deliver them as well in the Baltimore - Washington area.

I'm give my Audiocircle friends first notice / opportunity to buy these before listing elsewhere!  Any other questions, feel free to email or PM me.

So you want to buy brand new in box speakers at 40% off and unseal the boxes with the right of refusal just because at some past point you may have had some bad buying experience?

If it makes any difference, I personally brought these back from the hifi house warehouse and the boxes are in good shape. So no real reason to think they've been abused.

We may be able to work out some deal, but if interested best to PM or email me so we can discuss.

Come Monday I'm putting these up for sale on usaudiomart, audioasylumtrader, and audiogon. So if vkhol or any other AC'ers are interested, best to reach me soon. These are popular speakers in an attractive finish in new condition and will sell quickly.

Can you clarify--are you selling these "as is"? If the speakers are non-functional or otherwise defective you would not refund the purchase?

If they are non functional / substantially defective, I would do a refund. If it's damaged in shipping, it wil be insured and the carrier needs to take responsibility. Those are standard used sales terms and I have a perfect sales history over the various channels (eBay, audiogon, etc).

Let's make additional enquiries via pm / email only folks and keep this thread to sales status updates / additional info on the product for sale. I apologize for straying from that. Thanks!

Congratulations - you're getting a completely different and substantially cheaper / inferior model at a lower cost!   :banana piano:

Presumably it's also not new sealed in new in box, cause, you know, those are usually just boxes filled with broken parts.

Seeing as vhole is out, just a reminder that these are still for sale, but not much longer. I have an offer now that will go through if no other is quickly forthcoming. So please make sure to PM / email me soon if interested!

Sttaf's are .8th of an inch less in height...1.4th of an inch less in width...1.1th of an inch less in depth [ get a ruler and see how insignificant that is!]...and weigh ONE pound less  A difference you'll never see.  For the price of the Forrest's i can buy EIGHT Staff's and stack them FOUR high on each side! Been talking to an owner of Forrest's...he can't wait to get rid of them....NO DYNAMICS/CAN'T PLAY LOUD...... Oh yeah my Staff's ARE NEW IN THE BOX. MOST all reviews like the sound of the Sttaf by miles. BEST Totem bang-for-the-buck.[NOT my opinion = google it] = BUYERS BEWARE OF OVERPRICED DEALERS.

Looks like I have my own heckler - I'm flattered -  guess I made the Audiocircles big time!

When I buy speakers I know I usually focus on the size and weight of the box, even when the drivers, crossovers, wiring and even resonance control is different / better on another model. In the end of course what's most important about this hobby is getting as many boxes as cheaply as possible.

I'm all for a bit of witty banter, but if your gonna try to crap on someone's thread and sale, you might try to line up you facts and arguments a bit better.

Not sure where the "overpriced dealer" thing is coming from - these are a personal purchase of mine with my hard earned cash and several hours back & forth to get them and at 30% below retail asking. A dealer would ask for list or near to it because otherwise  they can't stay in business.  But we only care if they stay in business long enough to showroom them, then buy them for less on the Internet or used. Then we pick their bones at auctions when they go out of business, and then have our bones picked in turn by others when we resell. Kharma's a bitch when it's just all about the deal.
