Two new interesting speakers at the Omega Speaker Store.

I see the bipole 3xrs has dual binding posts. Does this mean they can also operate as normal 3xrs' if just one set of posts are used?

I imagine something would be different with the other driver still there.  I suppose it would become a passive radiator.  Maybe that would be a good thing.

Probably wouldn't act as a passive radiator. The cabs are ported. The cone might resonate a little, but I doubt it'd do anything really noticeable, unlike the way an actual passive radiator does in a sealed cabinet.
