 I recently picked up a used BP 4,2 from "Flebay".
The price was right,so I figured,"Why not'? The only physical issue,other than some scratches,is that the green LED light does not work. It looks a little bent.
 Here is my question:
 I am using a 2B LP with RCA inputs,and I noticed that when I used the BP 4.2's XLR Outputs, the sound to the 2B was quite muffled.
This does not happen when using the BP 4.2's RCA Outputs.,(Thankfully.)
 I bought the RCA to XLR cables already wired,and I wonder if that is the cause.
 All the other inputs/outputs of the unit seem to work fine.
 Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it might be the cables as both left and right sides not working would seem slight.  There is no advantage to using a Balanced to RCA cable anyway as the sending and receiving unit must be balanced.
