GREAT NEWS!!! Mark Schifter founder and president of AV123 has announced on the av123.com forum that he will be taking time out of his CRAZY BUSY schedule to attend the Sept 11th listening session I'll be hosting!!! You guys won't want to miss out on this cuz Mark is really quite an incredible individual. He's got an enormous amount of knowledge and experience w/ audio as well as being a wonderful human being to hang out with!

If you're interested in attending and haven't already PM'd me your email address, please be sure to do so. I'm right at around 20 people now so I can on take a few more folks...If folks cancel, that'll free up some space for other interested parties. This is shaping up to be the best listening sessions I've ever hosted!

That's great news! Mark is a first class guy and a true gentleman. I hope he brings along some of those amazing looking speakers he is introducing soon. Those floor-standing speakers with ribbon speakers, I think they are called mini's. When I noticed the intro price of $1,600 (as I recall)per pair, I honestly thought it must have been a misprint! They are probably the coolest looking speakers I have ever seen. I literally read the whole thread to make sure the price wasn't per speaker. It wasn't! Plus, the new digital gear (amps, xovers, software) looks equally cool. Even if the new stuff isn't out, I'm sure everyone will be in for a real treat.

Lots of stuff going on at AV123 and all of it looks to be continuing the tradition of great looking and performing gear at great prices. I wish I lived closer, I'd really like to hang out and check out the products!

if my wife knew what i'm about to do, she'd kill me so don't tell her...

originally this was planned as a 15 person session. since MLS announced he would be attending, we agreed to increase the headcount level to 25 (which is really at 30 right now). since Mark has exhibited such great generosity, i'm going to remove the 30 person limit altogether to give everyone interested in attending a chance to meet Mark and a chance to win one of the fabulous prizes...PM me your email address if you are interested in attending.

no Strata Minis, but we'll have Selah Audio SA-1s, Onix Ref 3s & 1s, RS250MkIIs, RS550MkIIs, and another speaker TBA...

plus, Son Of Ampzilla, Rowland M201s, Onix H34 integrated tube amp, Onix CD-1 CDP...

basically ALOT of nice gear to play with!

you'll need to drop by hectic1's place to hear the Onix H34 integrated tube amp and Ref 3s...

I plan to. Bob/Hectic is a really good guy and his wife Lisa is an awesome and understanding *very important* partner. I haven't seen his new place yet but I'll be there when he has the next gathering. I'm too far to come to your place but if I was closer, I'd be giving you a call.

Thanks, and keep us posted on those new speakers! I don't know what it is but I really think they look cool. I'm sure they will sound even better than they look.

The Strata mini is a piece of art in my book. If they sound better than my current Onix Ref1 than I'm sold.
