Lack of Hypex news

Is anyone else worried by this? Nothing in 2 years. What are they doing/working on?

This isn't Hypex stuff but I do know that Bruno has been working on a new speaker line with the company Kii. Using DSP and acoustic changes to the front baffle, he's making a CD design.

Sorry for the off topic post...moderator, feel free to delete/move/etc...

Well, I do believe that Hypex introduced the Ncore 500 new modules for OEM customers this year (lower priced, lower powered than the NC-1200), so not exactly nothing new.  I think Hypex is mostly concentrating on their OEM business (but sure am hoping for a DIY version of Mr. Putzey's DAC design...)
I am more curious about what is going on with Mr. Putzeys high end company Mola Mola, and if they are actually delivering products yet?  Really looking forward to reports on the Mola Mola DAC as it features a rather unique desing and promises seriously high resolution.

Yup, that's what I linked in my post above. Can't wait to see the measurements.

Dave.

Seems along same vein as Devialet Phantom speakers, albeit using a more traditional appearance.

On paper looks to me like it will be a better sounding system. As it is more than twice the price, is should be.

See the comparison from the Munich show of the Phantom and the Kii from the 6Moons coverage (you'll need to scroll down a bit):

Thanks for the link.  Good read.

It will be interesting to read further 'proper" reviews.

I hope to get to RMAF and check the Kii out.

Regards,

Spencer

No news seems to be good news when it comes to Hypex: their Ncore 1200 is still the best available, especially when implemented well. I recently traded my Nuforce Ref 9 V3 SE amps for Merrill Audio Veritas. The search ends right there, I don't think amplification can be done much better than Merrill has done! So no more audio talk, just music for me now!

There is more then you think.

1) Bel Canto Design follow up their very expensive NC1200-based Black system with the REF600 monos [$4'500/pr] which combine an nCore NC500 module with an NC1200/700 switch-mode power supply, 27/33dB gain switch, XLR/RCA inputs and 300/600W into 8/4 ohms. There is a high input impedance of 200K, peak output current of 27A and John Stronczer's custom fully balanced input/driver stage that provides very low output impedance to the class D Hypex power module.

http://www.belcantodesign.com/eOne/products/amplifiers/ref600m-amplifier/

2)

The Taranis Stereo Power Amplifier brings a new performance price point for Audiophiles.  Based on the Hypex Ncore NC500, it allows audiophiles to enjoy some of the benefits of the NCORE and Veritas technology, at a lower price.

The Taranis is designed with ultra-low distortion from input to output, and employs a specially designed high end input stage with a high current drive; together, these provide the output stage with ease, speed, detail, and power like no other.

Using the Hypex Ncore NC500, which is an Ncore output stage, and a custom input stage the Taranis Stereo Amplifier is a high end amplifier packaged in an affordable, eye catching chassis with power meters.

There is more just look for it.

Acoustic Imagery also has a pair of NC500 Mono's on the way, under $2k per pair.
