I have a set of Croft amplifiers, namely a Micro25 preamp (tube) and a Series7 power amp (hybrid). I now need to complement my system with a good quality DAC and speakers.
With respect to the DAC I am leaning towards the Arcam irDAC.
With respect to the speakers, I am leaning towards KEF LS50 (or perhaps Harbeth P3ESR).
Both DAC and speakers have received very good reviews, but I would appreciate any alternative suggestions, especially from people who either own or are quite familiar with Croft amplifiers.

I had the Arcam irDAC for about 2 weeks and it was insanely good for the price. I liked it so much now I am getting the Arcam FMJ 33...

I would get the MicroOnes used over the KEF LS 50's. Have heard both and MicroOnes are clearly better. Goodluck.

Well, it's good to know that you liked the irDAC so much. What was actually your source? A computer, an iDevice, a NAS? Did you find any usability issues with the irDAC?

With respect to the speakers, this is the first time that I've heard about MicroOne. I looked them up... Evolution Acoustics. I will have to see whether they have a dealer in Europe (where I live). Thanks for pointing them out anyway. On which point(s) did you find the LS50 inferior compared to the MicroOnes?

Recently I have read quite impressive reviews about Vapor speakers and I am intrigued. Maybe they would be a better choice compared to the KEF LS50, which I am thinking of buying.

Does anyone have experience with a Croft / Vapor combination?
