Hi! I'm looking for a recommendation for a processor for a rather strange setup I use for movies at home. I have an OPPO BDP-83 fed through a receiver and a McCormack 2ch amp to a pair of quality tower speakers. My TV is a 60" Samsung 8500. I currently have an Anthem AVM20 I bought used but it makes an incredibly loud hum. So, I'm looking for a solution. I'm thinking the AVM20 isn't worth repairing.
I'm thinking maybe the OPPO has good enough audio processing capability that I can use it to translate the multi-channel audio into phantom center, in which case I don't need a processor for that. Maybe the Outlaw 975 would be a good choice? Not sure, and I'm having a hard time finding places where I can get some good guidance - hence this post.
