Just to share my experiences with you guys.
Based on a recommendation found on this site (
http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=62730.80 ) - I did get my hands on some Obbligato gold capacitors and replaced them on my Sonus Faber xover. Let's say I was not expecting much, I do not believe in expensive interconnects, speaker cables etc. OK I do believe in quality, but nothing over the top.
I was surprised (very much!) on the effects this simple tweak had on the sound. The highs, are higher, the clarity has jumped three folds - indeed I need to get used to the new sound. There was always a little shoutiness to the sound at upper-mid (around 3kHz) that I used to tame down with a wide 1dB filter - don't need to anymore. I strongly recommend everyone to carryout this simple tweak.
Indeed I went ahead and did the same on my Sonus Faber Concertino Domus bookshelves at my office too, although the effect was not as obvious there.
