How can I convert a DVD (w/ hi-rez audio files embedded) to audio format (AIFF)?

I have Eric Clapton's "Slowhand" (Deluxe Edition) and it contains a DVD that has hi-rez files (5.1 and 2.0 remasters) of the CD.  The files are in VOB format, and there is not a 1-to-1 relationship between VOB files to tracks.  Is there anything I can do to convert these files to a recognizable audio format so I can play them on my main stereo?  I don't want to play them on a DVD player on my A/V rig.

I have tried a few Mac-based format conversion programs to convert VOB -> AIFF, but they either don't work well (lots of drop-outs/distortion) or they choke on the VOB files.  I thought I might need something specialized to convert a video file -> audio while stripping out the (extraneous) video content.

Any suggestions?  Cheaper is always better.

Thanks,  -dB

I use DVD Audio Extractor: http://www.dvdae.com/dvdae

It's available for Windows, OSX and Linux.

I think you can use a DVD converter to convert DVD to audio format. If you are a Windows user, you can use Freemake video converter which is a freeware. You just need to select an audio format as output format after importing the DVD to the software and then convert. However, I want to know where did you get the DVD, if you bought it abroad, I think you have to use other paid software like Leawo (used it, works pretty well) to disable region code on it.
