I use an M51 w/ a Musical Fidelity V-Link 192 usb/spdif converter. I prefer it to using the USB input on the M51 direct. I use it w/out a preamp to my N-core amps, and it is very good sounding indeed, losing nothing when I dropped my monster Audio-GD C3 preamp, even gaining a bit of clarity in the process. Since I use all digital sources and no dsd files it is a remarkable piece of gear for me, particularly so at the price. Simpler, and takes up less space than other DACS, too.
