Best three-shot burst of my life
« on: 13 Jan 2014, 04:05 am »
For years I've been chasing wintering eagles on the Mississippi just north of St Louis.  In dozens of trips, usually freezing my ass off, I have 3, maybe 4 good images.  Today it all paid off.............

Hi thunderbrick and all Audio Circle members.
Yes, your three pictures are really nice.
I think freezing your butt was worthed and pay off.

Of course if the eagle had between his claws a fish, that would be a perfect image,
but that would be asking for way too much.

Thanks, Guy!  Oddly enough the temperature was about 60 degrees today.  Very comfortable, exactly one week after below zero temps and nearly a foot of snow.  Typical Missouri winter.

Nice shots, let me know if you want to borrow my Sigma 120-300 ... would be great for that work.

If you want Bald Eagles, there are literally hundreds of them constantly right by my parents house in SW MO.  They swarm outside the chicken farms and eat the dead chickens that they throw out.

Great shots.  I have eagles in the wooded preserve behind the house I'm moving into.  It's so hard to capture a good picture.  Each time I have a good shot I run to get the camera and they are gone or move before I can shoot.

Great capture! I've gotten quite a few BIF (eagles, hawks) this year, always on a warm day following a cold one.

Thanks for the data on that, Pete.  I'm limited by work/family/audio systems so I get there at random dates/times.

This cracks me up!  If these guys had any idea how many were down in SW MO, they'd all be down there right now.  There are so many bald eagles in the field right next to my parents house that you quickly get bored of them.
