Back in the 80's I designed a tri-amped system using a decent looking tri-amp from a company whose name escapes me. Back then, there were more than a few to choose from, all geared for home audio.
I build some ACI (audio concepts inc) Saturn subwoofers and rewired some Genesis speakers, bypassing the crossover and hooking two sets of 5 way binding posts to the back of each: one for the tweeter amp and one for the midrange amp. I have a GFA-555 driving the Saturns and two Rotels driving the Mids and tweeters, respectively.
Here's the weak link: I;m using a Behringer CX 3400 electronic crossover to handle the crossovers. The Behringer is pro-audio stuff and while it works, I was wondering if there was anything affordable out there. Bryston made a very nice Bi-amp but I haven't been able to touch one on Ebay for under several thousand dollars.
Any thoughts?
