These have a large top plate (8" x 9") while most stands I've seen at a reasonable price are about 6" x 6".  36" high, though the company makes stands from 12-42" high.

Good deal but at 36" height these might be a bit tall for couch listening i'm afraid. At least in my situation. The stands i use are only 24" in height.
