Time for a Thanksgiving week sale.
« on: 26 Nov 2013, 05:26 pm »
I think Santiago and family would appreciate it if I sold another chuck of his stuff and sent him another check for this month.

I still have a lot of X-Voce center channels left in stock. These are outstanding center channel speakers with an open baffle MTM center section. They have a very transparent mid-range, great dynamics, 8 ohm load, and 91db sensitivity. And they look great.

These are the finishes that I have left in stock.

Diamond Moho finish:

Here is Diamond Moho Natural.

This one is Diamond Cherry Rosa.

This one is Diamond Black.

And here is one in Satin Moho Rosa.

Okay now here is the deal.

Any of the X-Voce speakers in any finish for $250 plus shipping

And if you want to build a matching X-Statik then I'll throw in an X-Statik kit for $349. Yes, that is for a pair. The drivers alone cost almost that much.

X-Statik cabinet plans can be seen here: http://gr-research.com/pdf/X-Statik%20Box.pdf

This is a really tough to beat combo.

Of coarse they lay on their side. The pics above were taken by just sliding each one out of the box to show the finish.

Here are a few more pics.

X-Voce with X-Statiks.

This is a ridiculously great deal on these center speakers!  One thing to be aware of is they run around 8.5" in height.  That's a 47" tv pictured here.

Here I am for scale.  :green:

I loved the X-Statik's and X-Voce. SUCH a great combo and absolutely kill it for HT! Get a pair of X-Omni's for surrounds and you're set. The OB sound is very contagious ...

I've always wished the X-Volce could be used as mains. They are just so good looking

Would the X-Voce work paired with OB7's or are these designs too different to match up?

You can build out an OB-7 like this.

So for system integrity if you want an X-Voce then build X-Statiks for the mains. If you want OB7's for the mains build a third OB7 laid out like the picture for the center channel, correct?

Might as well match all three mains if you can. And in this case you easily can.

What type of upgrades and price points are available for the X-Statics and as aftermarket (since they are already built) for the X-Voce?

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it. And a happy day to all who don't.

Danny,

Is this deal still available? If so, how much would it cost to ship the X-Voce and X-Statik kit to Crystal Lake IL 60014?

Thanks,
Dean

You can upgrade the X-Statik crossover board with Sonicaps and Mills resistors for $180.

For the X-Voce it will be $129 for Sonicaps and Mills.

No Rez is a nice upgrade too.

Thanks Danny.

Decisions, decisions... which OB series to build: X-Static, OB5/7 or one of the new yet to be released X designs? Pros and cons; cost vs performance; it's enough to give you a headache. I'm reminded of one of my professors sayings "when in doubt, run in circles, scream, and shout" ...

The higher resolution levels are going to come from the OB-5 and OB-7's.

The X-Statik will give you a smooth balanced sound with great mid-range and mid-bass response. They can also be upgraded to bring those detail levels up a notch or two. Right out of the box though the kit is an unbeatable value.
