I hadn't realized how much the bikini model added to the cost of a pair of these speakers!

That kind of "marketing" is expensive!  :)

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

The bikini model is no more, her season contract ended.
For years I dont see her anymore in the Gilmore ads and even the old model images have been removed.

Yeah I've thought about getting into something like that. Not sure I'd want to run the woofers all the way up to 700/800hz though. Sure would be nice to find a drop-in replacement for the existing unit, even with cavity resonance. :|

I have an old pair of Apogee Cal Sigs that I could use in some kind of Frankenstein experiment, but as I get older I feel less inclined to want to blow myself up.

Ah well, no one said it should be easy.

I don't think you need to XO that high up even with the PDR version of the neo8. Particularly not so if you use 9 drivers as you can see here in the upper chart, which is the raw line array of Neo8 PDR - the acoustic HP is at 200hz, and the line can take quite a bit of punishment in power handling.
