There has been quite a bit of talk about the Panasonic and JVC digital receivers. Quite a few folks like the sound of these little receivers more than some of the more expensive gear they own.

One of the problems with these units is they were not designed to use audiophile power cables or speaker cable.

I offer a mod for the Panasonic receivers to replace the power inlet with a high quality IEC for $85.00. I am now extending that offer to the JVC receivers.

The other problem is the spring connectors for amp output. I came up with some adaptors for the Panny and now I will offer them for folks to use on just about any piece of gear.

Here is a shot of the speaker connector adaptors being used with an input adaptor on a Sonic Impact digital amp

Here is a shot just of the speaker adaptors

Here is a close up of the High Quality RCA to stereo mini-plug adaptor

The speaker adaptors are built with Vampire Direct Gold Plated Binding post and NITRO 14 AWG wire. The bare wire is tinned for strength and to prevent fraying. Introductrory cost $60.00 a pair.

The mini to RCA adaptor is Introductory priced at $50.00. It is made from a Canare Mini plug and Cardas Rhodium Plated RCAs. It is wired with NITRO 18 awg solid core.

Let me know if any of you are interested in any of these adaptors and I will get them up on the website pronto.

If you have any requests for custom adaptors or mods for any gear, just post it on my circle or drop me an e-mail. I would be interested in just about any custom work.

Those adaptors are a terrific idea, especially for those that don't want their product to vary from stock for warranty purposes.  I'm tempted to keep one of the SI or Teac amplifiers around now...

Adding IEC support for the JVC is terrific as well.  Any consideration to binding posts for units like the JVC for those that don't mind the chassis being modified?  Sort of a mini-package just to make it usable with current equipment?

Consider me a possible interested party who is getting swayed towards a TV+Audio+WAF system.

I have to ask -- if you use the mini-RCA adaptor, and the speaker cable adaptor, is the weight of the two adaptors more than the Sonic Impact amplifier?  :-)  If so, I would include one of those rocks in any orders to put on top of the amplifier so it doesn't tip over.

TheChairGuy MIGHT send me his JVC to take a look at. I don't know that he is too willing to let it out of his sight

I would be willing to put together a package, like I have with the Panny's. A lot depends on how much space there is to work with inside the unit.

I keep the AA batteries inside the the SI so it doesn't float away :D

Friggin' good thinking Wayne....those may just be my ticket.

I do love my JVC, but I know have seen your work on my reterminated Nextgen'ed LAT's and I would entrust you with my baby

Actually, I am now without (hi quality) amp awaiting the return of my Exodus from Kevin.  Once it returns I think you and me will be talking the simplest of JVC mods :)

I'd actually been wondering if you might be persuaded to work your magic on the JVC.  Sound like some interesting stuff.

Thanks for all the nice comments and words of encouragement.

I have added the adaptors and JVC mod to the BOLDER Cable website.

have you ever considered making replacement cables for sennheiser headphones cables particularly the 650's?

The last time I looked into this, the Sennheiser connectors were required to be molded onto the cable. Cardas is big enough to afford to do this. I am not.

If the connectors ever do become available, I will reconsider building some.

Thank You Wayne !! :)
I ordered a pair of the binding post adaptors only a few days ago and they arrived today.....look great....nice job....quick delivery !! I'll use these on the JVC receiver , allowing me to try different cables very easily. Heck, maybe I'll even give a listen to my old Pioneer SX-1010 receiver.... ....thanks !![/list:u]
