I really do not know as we are still looking at what software is needed to do DSD on the DAC and the licensing issues involved.

Perhaps it would help to see which other DSD-capable DACs that use the same or similar hardware are out there.
Fostex HPA-A8 comes to mind because it uses the very same AK4399 converter (just not two of them) and supports DSD from both SD card and over USB. I don't know about the Lynx Hilo converter as it's hardware is undoubtedly different but then, it has an open-source interface and so could be easier to study.
I think DSD is not really so much of a necessity from sound quality perspective but rather the wish of industry to induce yet another cost on us by making us believe it is something we need. I'd much rather they perfect the PCM technique. But if you are going to have a DSD-capable BDP, it would still be nice if both the BDP and BDA had this capability.
