these power supplies go for almost nothing. Are these OK to power a tripath type of amp? They recommend a 12V 5A  supply. The specs are OK, but some people are getting these for 8.00 shipped from China to the USA

With some AC filtration they are probably fair. I'm sure there are some caps and stuff that could afford to be upgraded.

People put AC filtration on SqueezeBox stock power supplies and thought it was as good as about anything else. I suspect this is possible with class D amps (T is in the family).

I don't know about that but I have a meanwell 5amp 12 volt smps that I used to use with my topping tp20. I quite like what I have read about meanwell and it has served me quite well so far.

12v linear power supply from Amazon - these are the popular goto for most folks and much better than cheapo Meanwell SMPS knockoffs:
