We saw Kingfish on Sunday night in St Louis, MO USA.

I've been a fan since I saw a YouTube clip prior to his first album (playing "Hey Joe").

Seeing him live was a whole new experience. His guitar tone, singing voice, stage presence (an extended stroll through the auditorium playing a 15 minute solo), and ability to string his solos within a song to a rousing finish made for a great evening.

I've seen a lot of blues/rock guitarists over my 67 years, and had the pleasure of digging Stevie Ray Vaughan when he was playing in Austin nightclubs in the late '70s, as well as Albert King, BB, Albert Collins, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy...on and on. Kingfish is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

If you can see him live, don't miss him. It's an experience beyond his records.

"Looking Back" contains what is, to me, one of the all-time classic lines in a song:

Hey wto, good to see you in the neighborhood.

Not specifically familiar with Muddy's Folk Singer, but will check it out. Saw him once back in the day, was at the show where the Fathers & Sons album was recorded (mind blowingly good concert). Things are good here, getting old as many of us at AC are, which is a good thing considering the option. Hope all is well with you too Sir, stay warm & healthy.

Very well said. He has all of the talent in the world, and he sings and plays with real passion.

I'm a couple of years behind you at only 65 years old. I had to wait till I lived in Houston from '80-82 to see Stevie at Fitzgeralds. That was closer to "discovering" him than anyone I knew in Detroit back then. I've seen the guys you mentioned, also Muddy and Freddy King shortly before they passed and countless others, and I remember telling people after the first time I saw Kingfish that he was going to be huge. The last two times I had that feeling were Stevie and Derek Trucks, and those hunches seem to have been proven true.
